What is Distance Learning?
As the old Martini advertisement almost said...
'Any Time, Any Place, Anywhere...
that’s Distance Learning'.
If you haven’t got time for regular college attendance, or you live too far from an Accredited Study Centre then Distance Learning could be right for you. Of course it’s hard work, but studying for CIM qualifications is hard which ever way you do it and MET will ensure that you are given all the support you need for success. You will receive:
- A study pack for each module;
- A text-book for each module;
- A detailed study schedule;
- Support while developing your
assignments with plenty of
feedback
on your assignments
or loads of exam practice;
- Contact with your tutor by
telephone,
email or post.
As most marketing students are very busy professionals, holding down a difficult job in very pressurised times, attendance every week at a traditional college course is often virtually impossible. If this is your situation then Distance Learning could be the route for you. |

Are there any drawbacks to Distance Learning?
The obvious problem is the lack of personal contact. It is important to consider whether you are the sort of person who can be self motivating without the stimulus of meeting your tutor and other students. To a very large extent internet communication can help here because you can email comments and questions to your tutor at any time during the course. And you will get a speedy response!
How successful are Distance Learners ?
Happily our Distance Learners are at least as successful as those who choose an attendance route. In fact some of our best and most successful students have been Distance Learners.
Extra personal Tutorials
If you choose Distance Learning but don’t live too far from Lincoln you may wish to have extra personal one-to-one session with your tutor to discuss your work. These can be booked in advance.
