The Qualifications - there are three levels offered:
The Professional Certificate, Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma

Professional Certificate in Marketing

Entry criteria for the CIM Level 4 qualifications
For anyone in a junior marketing position or marketing related role. It provides a thorough and practical insight into the whole gamut of marketing issues - and is a valuable qualification as you look to progress your career.

As a minimum, 2 ‘A’ levels are required or any general bachelors or masters degree
or an equivalent such as:

  • CIM Introductory Certificate
    (Level 2 or 3 versions will be accepted)

  • NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Marketing
    (equivalent to NQF Level 3)
  • NVQ/SVQ Level 4 in any other subject UK (equivalent to NQF Level 4 and above)
  • International baccalaureate
    (equivalent to NQF Level 3 and above)
    or
  • Successful completion of the
    Level 4 entry test

  • Business and/or marketing experience in a support role would be advantageous but
    is not essential

Professional Diploma in Marketing

Entry requirements
For those who already hold the above certificate, or who have a degree in any discipline. It provides a plethora of skills at an operational level - not least how to write and execute a marketing plan.
  • Professional Certificate in Marketing or
  • Any degree or
  • 3 years marketing experience or
  • BTEC HNC / HND or
  • N/SVQ level 3 Marketing or
  • N/SVQ level 4 any subject

Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing

Entry requirements
The most advanced qualification we offer, focusing not just on marketing strategy, but its role in general business – and the ability to make marketing accountable in your organisation.
  • Professional Diploma in Marketing or
  • Marketing related degree* or
  • Any degree and senior experience or
  • N/SVQ level 4 Marketing or
  • N/SVQ level 5 any subject or
  • 6 years marketing management experience, 3 of which at senior level.

*A degree with significant marketing content from a CIM approved university.

Those educated outside of the UK must have achieved the equivalent of the above
entry criteria and, where English is not their first language, evidence of English.
